When traveling to Beijing, in addition to popular scenic spots like the Forbidden City, be sure to take a stroll in the hutongs.
From Lu Xun’s former residence to Xishiku Church, this should be the most suitable route for citywalk in Beijing.
In just 2 kilometers, history and modernity blend, the architectural style is unique, and the cultural atmosphere is strong.
In the days of spring blossoms, call your friends and start a city ramble.

📌Recommend three must-visit scenic spots
Lu Xun’s former residence
👉The Lu Xun Museum includes the Lu Xun Exhibition Hall of His Life and Lu Xun’s former residence.
👉Reservations need to be made in advance on the official account. Free admission with your ID card.
👉Walking inside, you can see that in front of the statue of Mr. Lu Xun, there are flowers sent by tourists.
Zhengyang Bookstore.
👉It is known as the most beautiful bookstore in the capital. There is the “Pagoda of Elder Wansong” in the courtyard, which is the stupa of Elder Wansong.
👉The courtyard retains the original flavor of a quadrangle courtyard. The wooden windows have endured the washing of years, and the mottled marks are clearly visible.
👉There is a leopard cat in the bookstore. It seems to be used to the coming and going of tourists and sleeps quietly on a stool.
Xishiku Church.
👉A gothic building of extraordinary beauty with a history of more than 300 years.
👉Inside the church is a European-style dome, and on both sides are colorful glass windows, luxurious and gorgeous. I went there just for this.
👉At 3-4 pm, when light shines in, taking photos is amazing.
🚇Transportation route
Take Metro Line 2 and get out at Exit B of Fuchengmen Station. Walk about 300 meters and you will reach Lu Xun’s former residence.
🥩Delicacies along the street
There are two Huguo Temple snack bars on this road. You can try Douzhi (fermented mung bean juice), Jiaoquan (fried dough ring), Baodu (quick-fried tripe), Tanghuoshao (sesame seed cake), and Miancha (millet paste). These are all old Beijing delicacies.
